COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
The Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association awards scholarships to graduating members of the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra to attend accredited colleges
of their choice. The student must make music his/her major field of study, leading to
a career in music.
Applications will be scored using the point scale below.
- Statement of personal goals (one typewritten page, single-spaced, detailing short and long-term musicianship goals) 5 Points
- Orchestral musicianship and contributions to DPYO - DPYO Director’s evaluation 25 Points
- Teacher recommendation (From private teacher and/or school music director) 20 Points
- Audition tape which will be evaluated by impartial professional musicians 50 Points
Total Points 100 …….
Winners must perform one number for the DPVA Spring luncheon on May 20, 2008 at NCR Country Club.
