Welcome to the Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association

The Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association was created in 1952 with an on-going mission to support the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra in the areas of education, promotion, fund raising and membership development. The current membership of the DPVA is 300 men and women, the largest volunteer organization to support the Dayton Philharmonic and the largest music education program in the United States.

You can find DPVA volunteers throughout the community in schools as docents, educating school children prior to attending Young People’s Concerts, ushering youth concerts, providing hospitality to musicians, collecting used instruments to be refurbished for Dayton Public School children and fund raising. The DPVA signature event is the Designers’ Show House and Gardens. 2007 will mark the fifteenth Show House.

Diamond Drive Away Winner Announced

The Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association is very proud to announce the winner of our first ever Diamond Drive Away Raffle, Linda Giffen. Even though our lucky winner did not drive away in a new Lexus, she did drive away with a very large check. DPO Music Director, Neal Gittleman, drew the winning ticket as a finale to the 75th Anniversary concert on June 1st at the Dayton Art Institute. Thank you to everyone who purchased or sold tickets for the raffle. Thanks too, to Linda and her husband for sharing their good fortune by making a generous donation to the DPVA.
